«Beyond the Crisis: Psychosocial Support Programme (PSP) in mid and long-term support»
The purpose of the Forum is to provide European Red Cross/Red Crescent National Societies, working in the domain of Psychosocial Support (PS), with a venue and time to exchange ideas, good practice and tactics. It will allow the participants to set strategy and recommendations for future PS development.
The style of the Forum will include a number of presentations by speakers on related topics as well as examples of RC/RC practices and interventions. Equal time will be given to participation in themed and facilitated workshops.
The Forum language will be English. If this presents a problem, please contact us and we will do what we can.
Each European RC/RC National Society will be invited to attend. One or two places will be allocated to each. Participants should have responsibility for, or practical experience of, Psychosocial Support activities, programmes or training.
The Forum will be held at the Swedish Red Cross Conference Centre: Gripsholmsviken, 40 minutes travel from Stockholm/Sweden.
Title: Beyond the Crisis: Psychosocial Support Programme (PSP) in mid and long-term support.
Contents: The programme will include each phase from planning, through relief to recovery. Emergency response can become a long-term commitment. Other PSP programmes require on-going projects. The topics will include: PSP and migration, prevention of human trafficking, child protection, post-traumatic growth. Special attention will be paid to projects presented in previous forums: how have they developed? How can one end a programme, such as in Beslan, Madrid or South East Asia after the Tsunami?
