1. Research Phase

Enlarge our knowledge about convergent volunteers (CVs):

• Motivation of CVs
• systems for managing spontaneous volunteers (best practice models)
• training needs and expectations

by means of:

• Literature review
• Case study
• Experts workshop
• Survey

2. Implementation

Set up all preconditions for forming a „Team CP“ in Germany, Poland and the United Kingdom based on the results and analysis of the research:

• design a media campaign with help of a media consultant (in ENG, GER, POL). Aim of the campaign is to attract people to help in a team in case of disaster
  
• adapt the existing online database for the use of project partners
• develop a prototype training curriculum and adapt it for online learning of Team-CP members
• enhancement of database, implementation of training curriculum and online training tools

3. Outcome and Expected Results

• 3 ready to use concepts for an integrated media campaign on how to mobilise and raise the awareness of population on civil protection (GER,POL,UK)
  
• “educating” and preparing convergent volunteers to respond in a safe, responsible and coordinated way in case of emergency by means of an online training in self protection and disaster preparedness
  
• developing and adapting a powerful database for coordination and alerting of convergent volunteers (GER, POL and UK)
• establishing an online platform for management, communication and training of convergent volunteers - “web 2.0 online community” (AUT)
  
• post project: dissemination of outcomes for possible implementation in other European countries
