Psychosocial Responses to Current Crises: Climate Change, the Economic Situation and Forced Migration
The purpose of the Forum is to provide European Red Cross/Red Crescent National Societies, working in the domain of Psycho-social Support (PS), with a venue and the time to exchange ideas, promote good practice and network. It will allow the participants to set strategy, enhance current programmes and make recommendations for future PS developments.
The Forum has been designed to be engaging and interactive. It will include a number of presentations by speakers on related topics, examples of RC/RC practice and interventions,as well as discussions in workshops. The Forum language will be English.
Each European RC/RC National Society is invited to participate. Participants should have an interest in, responsibility for and/or practical experience of psycho-social support activities, programmes or training.
The Forum will be held in the Bulgarian Red Cross’ Conference Centre just outside of Sofia from Friday 9th to Sunday 11th October, 2015; from 12 noon on Friday to 1pm on Sunday.

This year’s Forum focuses on three major influences on populations around the world:
Climate Change, the Economic Situation and Forced Migration. We will learn, share and discuss how we can reduce the risks and promote coping in various ways, as well as how we can work in a changing world amid challenging contexts.
- Panel Discussion on the three main topics followed by discussion groups
- Good practice examples: update from and using OPSIC
- Good practice examples: focussing on climate change, the economic situation and forced migration
- Opportunities for engaging and networking
- Practical examples of the work from National Societies
- Follow-up on RC/RC crisis interventions during 2014 & 2015
