Are you prepared? - Prepare 2 Respond
Strengthening the Humanitarian Sector in the new EU Member States and Candidate countries*
Disasters usually hit us very unprepared in our lives and turn our lives upside down. In order to be prepared as best as possible or to react as best as possible ECHO finances the project "Prepare to respond II" to strengthen respective capacities of Humanitarian Organisations in the new EU countries and candidate countries.
Activities are taking place on two levels. For one at an individual level through the provision of trainings for key staff working in the target organisations and secondly on an organisational level through exchange opportunities with experienced organizations in this area.
Knowledge Transfer via Trainings
Following courses are being offered: Essentials of Humanitarian Practice, Disaster Risk Reduction, Children in emergencies, Needs assessment, Managing people and projects, Monitoring and Evaluation, Climate Change, Field Logistic and WASH Fundamentals as well as a Simulation exercise on Field Logistic.
Organizational capacity development
A mix of placements, study visits and consultancies shall enhance organizational learning. Placements provide key staff of Humanitarian Organizations with an unique learning opportunity by directly working with an experienced organization at Headquarters or in the field. Short term study visits provide the opportunity for managers or other key staff to exchange experience on specific topics such as Financial Management with AutRC HQ or with RedR UK. For more detailed or specific topics tailor-made consultancies can be provided.
