UKRAINE UPDATE

Since March 2022, the Austrian Red Cross supports the conflict-affected population in Ukraine through various relief activities and long-term programs. With delegations in Kyiv, Lviv and Uzhhorod, one of the priorities lies in the assessment of needs and the provision of goods and services most needed to improve the life of conflict-affected people, particularly those, who had to flee their homes and now live in collective shelters or with host families.

Furthermore, the AutRC branches of Burgenland, Lower Austria, Salzburg, Tyrol, Upper Austria, and Vorarlberg, have recently donated twelve ambulance cars to assist the Ukrainian Red Cross Society in their efforts to provide health services. These vehicles have been handed over to the logistics hub in Chop and will be used in Chernihiv and Cherkasy Oblast located in the East of the country as well as Zakarpattia Oblast to support the local population and internally displaced people.
