154 Lebanese and 66 Syrian families have received 150 USD in unconditional, multi-purpose cash support through ATM cards for a period of 8 months. Post-Distribution-Monitoring proved that receiving cash assistance significantly increased expenditure on food and lowered negative coping mechanisms that the families had to apply before receiving the support. The debt of families receiving support was six-times lower at the end of the project, child labour, asking strangers for money, living on the street, or skipping meals as coping strategies were significantly lower at the end of the project. Cash support not only gives the affected communities the flexibility of prioritising the most urgent needs but also respects their dignity and strengthens local markets.

The project also assisted the conflict affected population with 1,082 food parcels and Lebanese Red Cross staff and volunteers with capacity development.
