WASH Project Management Cycle in Emergencies
Aim
This training will enable ERU delegates to understand the roles, responsibilities and linkages of an Emergency Response Unit (ERU) in an IFRC disaster response operation.
Objectives
At the end of the training, participants will be able to
- explain the roles, responsibilities, interdependencies and interactions of a deployed ERU with relevant stakeholders (sending National Society, host National Society, other ERUs, other organisations and the IFRC)
- identify and apply basic IFRC administrative, financial and logbook procedures
- explain the purpose and characteristics of different types of assessments and the steps in an assessment cycle
- define quantitative and qualitative data collection methods commonly used in rapid needs assessment
- describe the roles and responsibilities of each ERU rotation
- draft a simple ERU Plan of Action (PoA) in line with the overall operation
General information
The training has been designed in close collaboration with IFRC Geneva Surge and IFRC Surge Learning & Development. It is designed to serve different sector ERUs, although the different exercises are based on a WASH ERU scenario.
Requirements
- Completed national WASH Basic Training
- Nomination by your branch or National RC Society
- IFRC ERU MSM20 International Training recommended
- Completed the minimum trainings required for IFRC Rapid Response personnel
- English (at least B2 level)
