IFRC ERU MSM20 International Training
Aim
The IFRC ERU MSM20 training prepares MSM20 delegates to support beneficiaries and the most vulnerable among them with safe sanitation and Hygiene Promotion activities, thereby contributing to public health.
Objective
By the end of this training, participants have received the theoretical and technical basics to be able to be deployed as ERU MSM20 team members, and conduct activities in the areas of
- Hygiene Promotion
- Sanitation (excreta disposal) and
- Environmental Sanitation (solid waste management, drainage, vector control)
All elements of the course will be
- in accordance with Hygiene Promotion in Emergency guidelines and
- the guiding principles of the PGI, CEA and Green Response in Emergency Settings.
Special emphasis will be placed on integration of WASH RRPs.
General aspects
- IFRC Disaster Response System
- WASH ERUs
- Working and living in a WASH team with a focus on the theoretical and practical work of the EWASH module MSM20
Main technical aspects
- Introduction to Hygiene Promotion, Sanitation and Environmental Sanitation with a focus on CEA and PGI
- Personal soft skill development
Requirements
- Completed National WASH Basic Training
- Nomination by your branch or National RC Society
- Basic organisational and project management skills are an advantage
- Completed the minimum trainings required for IFRC Rapid Response personnel
- English (at least B2 level)
